Celebrity Dating: Inside Debra Messing's Budding Romance with Smash Costar: Life has come quite close to imitating art for Debra Messing and her new man, Smash co-star Will Chase.
Out with the old and in with the new doesn't just apply to the new year, but to Debra Messing's love life as well.
The 43-year-old actress announced on Dec. 20 that she and her husband Daniel Zelman had separated earlier this year, after 10 years of marriage. Messing is apparently not wasting anytime getting back into the dating game and is reportedly seeing actor Will Chase, her co-star on the upcoming NBC musical drama "Smash."
An insider tells Us Weekly, that Messing and Chase have already been together for about six weeks. "She's completely smitten with him," said the source. "And while the relationship is still new. It's already serious."
The source also told the magazine that Chase also just ended a relationship, having recently left his wife of two years, actress Stephanie Gibson, but wanted to make it clear that the 41-year-old actor did not breakup Messing's marriage to Zelman. Chase also has two young daughters from his first marriage that ended in 2006
There doesn't seem to be any bad blood between Messing and Zelman either. The couple plans to continue living together in New York with their seven-year-old son Roman and have no immediate plans for either a divorce or a new living situation. In what might be the most mature breakup of all time, Messing's rep told the magazine, "They have been a couple for twenty years, and the nature of their relationship simply changed over time."
